GREELEY — Randy Paul Wood, 48, of Greeley passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Howard County Medical Center in St. Paul.
Randy was born Nov. 17, 1965, at St. Paul to Orren W. Jr. and Catherine A. "Catsy" (O’Neill) Wood. Randy was 1 of 18 children, 11 brothers and 6 sisters. Ron, Mike, Bob, Rick , Terry, Jeff , P.J., Tim, Jason, Dan, John Paul, Deb, Linda, Susie, Lisa, Cheryl, and Sharon Wood. Randy was united in marriage to Michelle Harris on Sept. 14, 1991, at Greeley. To this union a daughter, Ragan was born.
He spent his early years on the family farm west of Greeley. The family moved into Greeley when Randy was 4. He attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Greeley High School in 1984.
Randy began his construction career with Mogensen Construction. He then worked for Greeley Gas and Electric and the Village of Greeley. For the past five years, he has owned and operated RMW Construction.
Randy was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, Parish Council; and Knights of Columbus. He served on the Village Board, Central Valley Schools Building Project and Service Club. He volunteered in various organizations including the Greeley Fire and Rescue Squad, Greeley Irish Festival, Wood Deer Camp, Greeley Rodeo and 4-H. Randy was an avid sports fan and Nebraska Husker Fan. He enjoyed coaching girls softball, golfing on Ord Men’s League, hunting, playing softball, fantasy football and organizing the "thirty pool". His favorite pastime was spending time with his family.
